It’s the news that the Southern Gold Coast has been waiting for! The official opening date of Timezone Coolangatta.

While construction and preparations are still underway with the finishing touches being made to the new 3000 SQM family entertainment centre, the official opening date is scheduled for Saturday February 27, 2016.

Over the past couple of months construction has taken place on the newest Timezone to open in The Strand at Coolangatta. The Timezone Coolangatta location will feature full size bowling lanes which provide a great atmosphere for holiday parties, corporate events, birthday celebrations and any other occasion. Timezone Coolangatta would not be complete without offering guests more than 200 of the latest and most popular games and attractions to play, which are continuously updated with new and exciting titles, including the classic favourites - dodgem cars and laser skirmish.

The official opening will feature an exciting opening parade in which all Southern Gold Coast residents have been invited to. The “Carnivale” themed parade will begin at 10.00 AM starting from the beach foreshore and wind its way through to The Strand at Coolangatta right up to the front entrance of Timezone Coolangatta.

The day will feature balloon artists and there is also the hugely popular free face painting for the children.

Local resident Connor J. said, “I can’t wait for Timezone to open as I now have plenty of things to play especially after going to the movies at The Strand.”

“It’s a safe and fun environment so I know my parents will feel safe knowing that I am enjoying myself with my friends, and besides they have the hottest newest dodgem cars. I am hoping to have my birthday party there in a few months’ time,” Connor said.

Timezone Coolangatta will be managed by the team who won the best Family Entertainment Centre { FEC } in the world, already recognised as the largest indoor family entertainment centre in Australia and the biggest Timezone™ in the world.

Jamin Jacub, Timezone Gold Coast Operations Manager has been overseeing the construction with owner Juan Uribe. “We have put a lot of effort into the building of this newest Timezone at Coolangatta to ensure that we support the local community.”

“Our choice of Coolangatta is based around what we feel is needed in the area, and our new family entertainment centre is certainly able to meet that need. The Timezone Coolangatta centre will complement our already highly successful Surfers Paradise location, as well as providing additional jobs on the Southern Gold Coast” Jamin said.

The Strand’s Marketing Manager, Sarah Clasen, said the centre was looking forward to opening Timezone Coolangatta’s doors to the public for the first time.

“We’re excited to throw open the doors of the Gold Coast’s newest Timezone on Saturday 27 February, and the opening parade will be a great way to celebrate the newest arrival at The Strand,” said Ms Clasen.

“Everyone is invited to join in the fun and enjoy the whole spectacle as it winds its way across Coolangatta.”

The February opening of Timezone Coolangatta complements the entertainment offering at The Strand, including BCC Cinemas and their popular school holiday activities.
