WHAT'S ON

COOLY ROCKS ON 2017!!

Cooly Rocks On' is Australia's coolest celebration of everything there is to love about the 50s-60s in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast.

As part of the week celebration, Timezone Coolangatta participated in numerous activities such as the street parade, Dance Workshop & Cooly Rocks On Pinball Challenge.

Timezone Coolangatta in collaboration with Gotta Swing hosted The Kooly Kat Dance Workshop incorporated of $10 sessions from the 7th to the 9th of June of Rock 'N' Roll, Rockabilly and Swing. The dance teachers came from all over Australia and overseas. The event attracted around 100 people to Timezone Coolangatta and highlighted the start of a fun-filled 5-day event.

Coolangatta's beautiful beachfront provided the backdrop for the 'Cooly Rocks On' street parade, bringing rock, revs and old-fashioned glamour to the streets on Saturday 10th of June.

Timezone Coolangatta's team was thrilled to be participating into the street parade for the second time.
Powie, Timezone's bowling pin mascot and our bathtubs pulled all the stops amongst the exuberant crowd. The children rejoiced at the sight of the duo and loved getting Timezone flags from the Timezone team along the street. The younglings expressed their gratitude with free hugs and high fives.
The colour, excitement, music and fun stretched along the beachfront for 2km with tens of thousands of onlookers lining the streets to watch the parade of floats, vintage cars, surf wagons, bikes, vans and more.

'Cooly Rocks On' Pinball Challenge debuted on the 11th of June from 9. The competitors worked their magic on cult pinball machines like Kiss, Aerosmith, Mustang and Whoa Nellie.

The Pinball Challenge was nationally publicised on Channel 7 News when Peter Watt who is currently ranked No. 1 in Australia's International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) ratings, was featured in an interview.

A very young chap called Jackson, re-iterated hope in the future of pinball and the Gold Coast Pinball Club by winning the challenge. Timezone Gold Coast will continue to sponsor the club in its future endeavour.
