The 26th of February was a milestone day for Timezone in Coolangatta, celebrating the very first year of business.

The Strand as a whole rejoiced in the celebrations along with Timezone, as the shopping centre benefited since Timezone Coolangatta opened its doors a year ago.

The Birthday fun started from 10am with a massive crowd, great prizes and awesome family entertainment till 4pm.

Ian Cousins, former Radio Personality at Radio Broadcasting and Corporate MC, kicked off the festivities with an enthusiastic introductory speech.

The Hon. Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, emphasised through her speech, the positive impact of Timezone Coolangatta in Southern Gold Coast.

The day featured balloon twisters, the hugely popular free face painting for children, Brazilian dancers, competitions and a variety of roving entertainment.

A fun, educational and interactive machine called Paint-O-Matic was placed at the main entrance. The youngsters got to play with colours to design beautiful artwork.

It was an extremely popular attraction for the many families that were present at the event.

An exclusive player package was available on the day that included 3 hours playing time, including "Mad Games" Ten Pin Bowling, all for a celebratory price of twenty-five dollars.

Thanks to The Strand for providing free parking to all the guests on the day.

Mission accomplished for our Bathtub racers drawing the crowds in, with the mighty help of Powie, our Timezone mascot.

The team distributed balloons and showbags in the shopping centre, enticing and inviting more people to be part of the celebrations.

The Timezone Gold Coast team also organised a random draw with luxurious prizes for grabs inclusive of 2 nights accommodation at Ocean Plaza, a Nintendo Switch, a $200 Delizioso gift voucher, two $50 Thanh Binh Bamboo vouchers, one $50 Max Brenner Gift voucher and a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Coffee machine.

In order to win, the guests had to place their receipts in the barrel that was located at the prize counter. The selected few had to present their Timezone cards to collect and enjoy their prize.

Timezone Gold Coast had dinner sorted for the guests on the day as they were entitled to a special discount at Pancake Diner and Thanh Binh Bamboo.

Timezone Coolangatta presented a Batman SLE Pinball challenge near the bowling area.

Congratulations to John Cosson in 1st place after a hard fought final. Grant Walker came in 2nd place after having played consistently well across most machines and recorded some of the highest scores.

We give our thanks to everyone that helped in making Timezone Coolangatta's first birthday such a master stroke.
